What I saw at Burning Man 2013. This year I put particular focus on the participants of Burning Man, shooting mostly portraits. Hope you enjoy.

Portraits taken outside the Truth is Beauty statue on Thursday night. These pictures were taken using 2 Paul C. Buff Einstein studio strobes with 22" beauty dishes powered by Vagabond Mini 2 power packs. This was my first serious use of these strobes so please forgive me for shots that lacked perfection. The pictures are almost all composites with long exposure pictures of the statue placed behind the subjects in the same location (and size) as the statue appeared in the portrait. These pictures were taken outside the Temple of Whollyness on Tuesday night. These pictures were taken using the same strobe set up as above. This was my first attempt and I was trying to capture both the fore and background of the images in a single shot using the strobes and long exposure. I was not entirely happy with the results. Some of the shots turned out OK in spite of these issues. I posted both the mild successes along with the problem shots so that those who were kind enough to stop by could see their results.
